Biography

Rolf Assev began his post-secondary education at the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy, where he entered officer training and later served as a sub lieutenant and third commander on a missile torpedo boat. He received a Master of Science degree from the Norwegian School of Business Administration in 1988 and began his career as an export consultant for the Norwegian Trade Council in Stockholm. He later joined the Lillehammer Olympic Organizing Committee as an executive officer, followed by three years working as a PR-advisor for Geelmuyden. Kiese where Assev managed the Microsoft account. Before beginning at Opera, Assev was the managing director for Spaceworld AS, a Norwegian retail electronics chain.

Assev and his wife, Marit, have three daughters. In his spare time he enjoys snowboarding, cross country skiing, windsurfing, sailing, wakeboarding and kitesurfing.
